In Oxford...again!

This time around, I am with the university program and we are staying at Worcester College on the opposite side of town from where I stayed last year during my conference.

I left on Friday, July 3. The traveling was exhausting (trying to make sure so many students were in the correct place at the correct time--and no one left behind!). I didn't sleep on the flight over, but we had the nicer version of the plane that I took last year...individual movie screens and choices. I watched The Tudors and some other Showtime shows for free...it was great. We arrived in London (Heathrow airport...very easy) right on time. No one was detained in customs (though some were given a bit of a hard time over the length of our stay). We all had letters and we needed them.

A bus picked us up right outside of customs (a double-decker that the students loved), complete with a rockin' bus driver who blasted Michael Jackson songs.

Here is the bus interior:

After arrival in Oxford, I showered, had a meeting with the students, and went to dinner (very good but too much food). The program director and I took students on an hour walk around the city center (I don't remember any of it because I was so exhausted). Then, I came back to my posh room (it really is, by college standards), Skyped, and tried to sleep.

Today (Sunday), I have been meeting with our program director (after a great breakfast in the hall), buying a fan for my room, printing in the computer lab, buying a phone card, talking on the phone in my room, etc. All very fun but I am getting tired and it is now 5:30 p.m.

Here are some shots of Worcester:
